always design for a sustainable future & admire history through art.

My family and friends have always called me "Nana". This was a name given to me by my mother after my beautiful place of birth, Nara, Japan.

I started my path following the steps of illustration, only to become enamoured with the form, function, and beauty of fashion. Even though I find myself mostly in my studio working, I draw a lot of my inspiration from the land the surrounds us and incorporating elements of the world within my work. These inspirations often call me to travel out to new and exciting places, and allow me to be able to utilise my love of the natural world into my work. I’ve been lucky enough to live in beautiful places all around the world, like the futuristic bustling city of Tokyo to the wilderness of the Guyanese Amazon forest. I am currently located in the PNW of the United States.

It is my goal as a designer to incorporate all elements of the things I love into my work, and find beautiful uniformity between all of it.
